O ELIAS PROFÉTICO:Um estudo sobre a interpretação
neo-testamentária da profecia de Malaquias 4:5

RESUMO: No livro de Malaquias 4:5 lemos que "Eis que eu vos enviarei o profeta Elias, antes que venha o grande e terrível dia do Senhor;" (ARA). Quem é de fato "o profeta Elias" mencionado nessa profecia? Qual o seu papel? Seria Elias o mesmo profeta descrito no livro de Reis, ou a profecia está falando de um símbolo profético? O objetivo do trabalho é investigar essa profecia e, especialmente, ver como o Novo Testamento a interpreta.

The Prophetic Elijah: A Study About the New Testament
Interpretationof the Prophecy of Malachi 4:5.

Abstract : In Malachi 4:5 one reads: "See, I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes" (NIV). Who is in fact "the prophet Elijah" referred to in this prophecy? What is his role? Would this Elijah be the same prophet mentined in the Book of Kings, or the prophecy would rather be speaking of a prophetic symbol? The goal of this research is to investigate this prophecy and, especially, to examine how the New Testament interprets it.
